Mentor Training                                      Become a Mentor

The Newton Mentoring Program continiues to recruit adults to mentor students at the Newton County public schools. Mentors must be at least 18 years old, commit to mentoring one hour per week during the school year and attend a 2 hour training orientation. The orientation schedule is listed below:

Tue, 01/31 @ 6 PM @ Turner Lake Complex, 6185 Turner Lake Rd, Covington
Wed, 02/08 @ 12 Noon @ The Welcome Center, 2101 Clark St, Covington
Tue, 02/21 @ 6 PM @ Turner Lake Complex, 6185 Turner Lake Rd, Covingto
Wed, 02/29 @ 12 Noon @ The Welcome Center, 2101 Clark St, Covington

Newton Mentoring, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was developed in 2008 to provide much needed individual support for public school students, K-12. We recruit, train and place adult mentors to work with students in the Newton County School System. Mentors take on the responsibility for, and commit to, having a positive impact on the developmental needs of their mentees.
